In the beginning (as far as I have knowledge) there was Angus and Ellen(Campbell) MacInnes. They had nine children. See group 1 below.
1) Here are the first names of the group (group 1) of nine brothers and sisters all of whom were born after 1800, all of whom were the issue of Angus and Ellen, all of whom had the surname *macinnes* (or one of its many variants):Margaret, Angus, Mary, Jane, Hector, Roderick, Alexander(b.1845-d.1896), Hugh, and Sarah.
2) Here are the first names of another group (group 2) of six brothers and sisters all of whom were children of Alexander, listed above, in group 1:Hugh, Josephine, Mabilla, Rollin, Edith and A.Russell. One critical fact regarding this group (group 2) of brothers and sisters is that they all issued from one father (Alexander, of group 1, above) but three separate mothers. This is to say that Alexander (of group 1) was married three times and had two children by each wife.
3) Here is yet another group (group 3) of first names of six more brothers and sisters all children of Hugh shown in group 2, above: Cecilie, Alexander, Hugh, James, Grant and Ivy.
I am one of the sons of Alexander from group 3, above. If you think you may be a descendant of anyone in any of the groups identified above, please contact me in this forum, or privately if you prefer.
Remember, there are dozens of variants of the spelling of the clan name, so the most important thing to focus on in this posting would be the three unique groups of brothers and sisters and their first names.
Furthermore, keep in mind that certain MALE FIRST NAMES seem to occur frequently in the Clan MacInnes. Some are: Alexander, Angus, Hugh, Roderick and James. So, if you see one of these first names in your ancestry, check to see who his brothers and sisters were (are) before jumping to the conclusion that we are related.
Thank you. _________________ No chit-chat, please. Only name, date, or place facts clearly related to my postings. I could care less about my family tree...but I have an aging brother (75) who does, and for whom I am happy to be doing this work. Thank you. |

| Unsure where my grandfather was born, but I know he owned a bricklaying company with his brother-in-law in Lowell, Massachusetts. His name is Hugh Patrick McInnis II and he sired 3 children at 180 Mammoth Rd. Lowell, Massachusetts: Hugh P. McInnis III, Michael McInnis, and Catherine McInnis. My father is Hugh III. I hope this has been some help to you. |
